17 Dec 2021

On December 17, World Trade Center Moscow hosts a presentation of projects and an award ceremony for the winners of the Clean Air 2021 National Ecological Prize.

The Clean Air is a professional award established at the initiative of the «Komsomolskaya Pravda» media group with the organizational support of the Russian Ecological Movement headed by Rashid Nurgaliev and Rosprirodnadzor, which recognizes the success of companies, public organizations and opinion leaders implementing energy-saving and reducing negative emissions technologies in Russia.

On the eve of the ceremony, Chairman of the Russian Ecological Movement Rashid Nurgaliev noted: «First of all, I see that this award is very important for people who cannot express their thoughts and ideas at the federal level, but express them only locally. This award makes it possible to declare themselves at the federal level, how they see it. This award is a way to show non indifferent to this topic people what can be done for ecology and how it can be done».

The main goal of the award is to replicate the best environmental practices that exist in the country, to draw attention to projects, the implementation of which will reduce harmful industrial emissions into the atmosphere, as well as to remove social tension in society arising from poor ecology, to explain the need to respect nature and support of those who love nature and are engaged in its protection.

Sergey Khoroshaev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Ecological Movement, briefly described the main mission of the award, saying: «It's time to take an inventory of green practices».

It was two stages voting for the best projects. First, the projects of the nominees were evaluated in the framework of the popular vote by the visitors of the «Komsomolskaya Pravda» website. A total of 107 projects were voted by 40 thousand users, who gave 117 thousand votes. After that, the shortlists of the best projects in each nomination were evaluated by the Expert Council of the Russian Ecological Movement. Among the main selection criteria there were environmental friendliness, innovation and feasibility.

The assessment of the contribution of Russian regions, industrial enterprises, public and scientific organizations to the country's environmental safety was held within the framework of the «Eco Initiative Сompetition», as well as in 6 award nominations:

Therefore, I think that this award is the first step towards putting things in order in our house. This is a noble idea and I am glad to be among the experts».
