Plastic surgery and telemedicine at WTC Moscow

The Congress gathered more than 5600 plastic and maxillofacial surgeons, otorhinolaryngologists, ophthalmic surgeons, combustiologists, orthopedic traumatologists, oncologists, neurologists, anesthesiologists, cosmetologists and other medical practitioners.

At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko in his welcoming speech to participants noted that National Congress had become a key word in plastic surgery. Its rich scientific program would serve to exchange experience and develop plastic surgery, aesthetic medicine and cosmetology, as well as improve the quality and safety of health care in Russia.

The program of the National Congress is traditionally drawn up taking into account the latest developments, the latest trends and achievements in this sector. Leading Russian scientists and surgeons make up-to-date reports, which are the result of extensive experience in practice surgery and demonstrate the «plastic surgery» specialty development over the past decade.

We can see great progress in technologies, methods, techniques of specialists' work in each sector of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic medicine within the past years. Lasers’ applying, templates made on 3D printers, telemedicine - all this was difficult to imagine 10 years ago. And today these spheres with the use of digital technologies are already becoming a familiar reality for a Russian surgeon.

Each working day of the Congress is marked by an interesting scientific program on plastic surgery and cosmetology. It should be noted that on the sidelines of the event, doctors and scientists share openly their achievements and best practices. Therefore, the agenda of the sections of the scientific program is divided into certain areas in order to give specialists the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in innovations in their field.

The program of the event on the first working day was held in 6 halls of the WTC Moscow Congress Center and included a meeting of the profile commission of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, 19 symposia on plastic surgery and cosmetology, as well as a congress of the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

Within the framework of the Congress, 13 Symposia were held on artificial intelligence in endoscopy and beyond, interdisciplinary approaches to surgical interventions, plastic surgery in ophthalmology, reconstructive plastic surgery and others.

One single session was dedicated to the memory of  A.I. Nerobeev. Professor, unique scientist and practitioner and the enormous contribution that he as the founder of modern maxillofacial surgery in Russia had made to the formation and development of reconstructive facial surgery, as well as the questions of keeping traditions and further development of his School.

Also on the second day, within the framework of the event, 4 master classes and master courses, a competition for young scientists, an IMCAS section, a filler summit, the final and a solemn awarding of the VI All-Russian Competition «Сlinics’ Parade» were held. The main goal of the Russian project is to familiarize the professional community with the best clinics, beauty and health care centers, centers of aesthetic medicine, cosmetologists from all regions of Russia, as well as to popularize and form a stable positive image among the end consumer. The project also provides a unique opportunity for companies to declare themselves and confirm their status as an industry leader in their region.

Such Russian and foreign companies as Medtekhnika, National Beauty Company, PAKT-MedService, Korean Medical Systems, POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics GmbH, InnFort Redex, Silimed and many others present their products and services in the field of plastic surgery and cosmetology at the exhibition accompanying the work of the National Congress.

In the extensive scientific agenda of the Congress the symposium of the Societies of Plastic Surgery of the CIS countries, symposia «Plastic Surgery in General Surgery», «Plastic Surgery of the Upper and Lower Extremities», «Maxillofacial Surgery», «Plastic Surgery and Transplantology» and others are planned.

Thanks to new digital telemedicine technologies, as well as modern technical equipment of WTC Moscow Congress Center, two online broadcasts of «live» surgical interventions will take place on the sidelines of the congress. Such demonstration performed by leading Russian surgeons is an opportunity for practicing doctors to gain invaluable professional experience.

In addition to live broadcasts, the program of the event includes a number of specialized master classes and a joint course of the Society of Rhinoplasty of Europe and the Russian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons «Innovations in Rhinoplasty» (Advances in Rhinoplasty).
