Daria Salamatova, the Director of the WTC Moscow Congress Centre, was sharing her experience with students within the framework of a two month WTC lecture course on congress and exhibition activities and business tourism. Moreover, she covered unique organizational practices for hosting special events held on the World Trade Center Moscow premises.
The lecture course was aimed at helping students to build core knowledge and competencies in event management. It consisted of the study of the congress and exhibition industry’s origin and the comparative analysis with the current situation on the market, as well as practical and master classes.
It was crucial to define Russia’s position and place in the world in the presented domain, reveal current problems of the industry and ways of their solution, examine the market structure, key market players and competitors. Daria Salamatova shed light on the main industry objectives and demonstrated various event formats in cases of WTC Moscow Congress Centre.
According to Daria Salamatova, ‘The course based on a case study enabled students to gain practical experience and skills of the economic impact assessment of events, comprehensive information regarding project management and loss minimization; and to apply this knowledge further to group projects as well.’
Furthermore, the Director of the WTC Congress Centre reported on existing methodologies and modern technologies, which implementation facilitates the process of dealing with projects.
